Meet the Principal
Cherry Moore
Welcome, North Broadway Students, Families, and Community Members,
I would like to welcome our returning and new North Broadway families to the new school year! My name is Cherry Moore and I’m honored to be the North Broadway Elementary School Principal. Working with our outstanding educators and support staff at North Broadway is a privilege.
On the NB Ranch students will EXPLORE their talents and skills, CULTIVATE relationships and CONNECT with nature, ACHIEVE their personal best and know their IMPACT on the world!
Over the next few years, our school vision is to become an Environmental science-focused school where environment and learning are intertwined. We will develop a foundation of community and knowledge of sustainability in each child.
To accomplish this mission and achieve our vision we are reimagining school. We want you to feel confident that we are committed to keeping our children, families, and staff safe and to providing high-quality, rigorous, standards-based education that focuses on the academic, social, and emotional needs of your child. At North Broadway School, good character traits combined with thought-provoking learning, lead to happy, successful children.
In my professional, as well as personal life, I believe the Escondido community is a great place to live, work and raise a family. My own children have attended our excellent Escondido schools. I understand as a parent just how vital your child’s education is for his/her future success.
North Broadway is a family, and we're proud to have you as a part of it. Thank you for all you do to support your child both at home and at school. We are looking forward to another great year at North Broadway Elementary!
Take Lead, Broncos!

Mrs. Moore Bio
Experience I am honored to be the Principal of North Broadway Elementary School since the 2020-2021 school year. I have served the Escondido Union School District for 25 years as a Principal, Assistant Principal, District/Site Instructional Coach, and classroom teacher. These experiences prepared me to lead our Broncos and work to develop the best education experience for our students. In May 2024, I was honored as the Administrator of the Year for the Escondido Union School District.
Family Life When I am not at school, I enjoy spending time with my husband, three sons, three dogs, and four Nigerian Dwarf goats. My home is filled with love and activities such as gardening, hiking, mountain biking, camping, traveling, or kayaking. My family loves the outdoors and visiting new places! As a longtime Escondido resident, our boys all attended Escondido schools for elementary, middle, and high school before continuing on to college.
Education I believe in being a lifelong learner. As an undergraduate I attended both California State University Fresno and San Marcos where I earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration: Accounting and a Teaching Credential. I earned my Administrative Service Credential, in May 2015, and in May 2020 a Masters of Science in Curriculum and Instruction from Western Governors University.
