China Visits North Broadway!

I've often wondered what we would see if we visited a classroom in another country. Would we be impressed? Would we learn something new about our own education system? Would we be thankful for what we already have? Five educators from China got a taste of that when they came over to see North Broadway's Jump Start summer school intervention program this August. Needless to say, they were impressed for several reasons. The behavior expectations, the ability to meet with small groups for specific academic interventions, the resources we have to meet the needs of students, small class sizes... The list goes on. They asked A LOT of questions. And, they asked the RIGHT questions. "How do you know what interventions the students need?" "How do you use technology to enhance the learning experience?" "How do you organize time to meet with small groups of students?" (They told me their own class sizes in China are often filled with 60+ students.) "Why are the students so happy?" Yes, the last question was my favorite, but only the students know the answer to that one. :)
I really like the idea that people want to visit North Broadway. You see, our school truly benefits when the community is interested and wants to be involved in our greater cause: To Ignite A Love of Learning. If you're reading this, I'd like to invite you to North Broadway. We value your interest and ideas we can all collaborate around. Let's make this the best education for our children.
